a memo
I am thinking of a zero-day approach to reconfiguring my personal internet presence (PIP) -- that is, wiping all of my domains clean (publicly, anyway) and starting over from scratch.
One site. A single document root, organized chronologically. Homepages for all the software projects, a weblog, maybe a Clew.
I can't explain this need to consolidate, or why I feel so scattered of late. Perhaps it was always too much work to keep six different domains. Most likely I'm moving into a stage of life that is at a clear remove from where I was in 1999 when I started setting all of this up. Maybe I just need to jump the groove in some way.
I can feel it resonating in the back of my head, a sense of realignment and change. The year of the Monkey is entering autumn, time to reap the dividends of all the cleverness I've picked up along the way and get it in place before the Rooster comes round to peck it to death.
Too many projects unfinished, too many troops in the field. Consolidate, retrench, and move forward day by day again.
