a log
I've got this cheap (low-resolution) webcam that I don't know what to do with. But I think it might be good, with processing, for looking at the sky.
So I'm going to point it at the sky. And then we're going to run the frames through several filters:
0) 15 fps to disk
1) cleanup every frame
2) enlarge stupidly and break into grid of web size images every 30 seconds
3) give it a gmaps-like interface (drag and drop)
4) leave notes on the sky
5) play back the sky at any practical framerate
How much sky can you fit in 20GB?
Each frame is 30K, so 699,050 frames. That means 46,603 seconds or roughly 13 hours. It would be nice to have several days, so maybe 5 frames per second for half the disk.
