So when was the last time you saw half a million Americans take to the streets (on a bitter-cold February day, no less) to protest the stated policies of their government?
Our elected leaders can see this as business as usual, and the neo-conservative media can delight in showing some of the 300 or so protestors who wouldn't stand on the sidewalk and got arrested, but the real story here is that nothing in recent memory has brought this many people out in protest, left OR right.
It's crazy. Do you think that a pro-war rally would draw so many people? I would be both scared and fascinated to find out.
